Terms of use
How booking a car on ekrily works: who does what, prices, payment, withdrawal, cancellation and complaints.
Updated 12 October 2026On this page
1.Purpose
ekrily is a platform to compare and book rental cars offered by car rental agencies established in Tunisia. It is published by ekrily SARL (see the legal notice).
These terms of use govern the use of the ekrily website and apps and the booking service. You accept them with each booking; the accepted version is stored with the booking.
2.What ekrily does and what the agency does
ekrily acts as an intermediary. The rental contract is between you and the agency, under the agency’s terms shown on the offer: minimum age, years of driving, deposit, mileage, fuel and cancellation terms.
- The agency is responsible for the car, its insurance, its compliance and the rental itself.
- ekrily is responsible for the booking service: showing offers, booking, collecting the service fee, customer service and the ekrily guarantee.
3.Using the service
You can book with a phone number verified by a code, or with an account. You must be at least 18 and give accurate information; the driver must meet the agency’s conditions.
You are responsible for keeping your access details private. We may suspend access in case of fraud, abuse or breach of these terms.
4.Booking
A booking follows these steps:
- you choose an offer; the car is held for you for 15 minutes;
- you enter the driver’s details;
- a summary lets you check and change your choices before confirming, as required by article 27 of Law No. 2000-83;
- the confirmation is sent to you with your booking voucher.
Some agencies confirm instantly. Others have one hour to accept your request; without an answer, the request expires and nothing is charged. The contract is concluded when the booking is confirmed.
5.Prices and payment
Prices include all taxes: 19% VAT, the 2 TND per car per day levy set by the 2026 Finance Act, and the ekrily service fee.
- The ekrily service fee (5% of the price excluding the levy, between 8 TND and 60 TND, rounded to the dinar, VAT included) is paid online by bank card, on our payment provider’s secure page.
- The rental price and the deposit are paid to the agency at pickup, by the methods shown on the offer.
ekrily never asks for a bank transfer or a payment to a personal account. A receipt for the service fee is available in your account.
6.Right of withdrawal
Under article 30 of Law No. 2000-83 of 9 August 2000 on electronic exchanges and commerce, you may withdraw within 10 working days of the booking being concluded, without giving a reason. Just cancel in “My trips” or write to us.
Amounts paid online are refunded within 10 working days. Under article 32 of the same law, the right of withdrawal ends when the rental starts, at your request, before that period is over.
7.Cancellation and no-show
Each offer shows its cancellation terms before you book: free cancellation up to 24 hours, 72 hours or 7 days before pickup, depending on the agency. The refund amount is always shown before you confirm a cancellation.
- Before the free-cancellation deadline, or during the withdrawal period, everything you paid online is refunded.
- After that deadline, or if you don’t show up, the service fee is kept. ekrily charges nothing else.
If the agency cannot provide the rental, it must tell you at least 24 hours in advance and you are refunded in full (article 35 of Law No. 2000-83). The ekrily guarantee also applies.
8.At the counter
Show your original driving licence and an ID. You pay the agency the amount on your booking voucher, except extras chosen there, missing fuel, late return or recorded damage.
The car is inspected at pickup and return (photos, mileage, fuel). The deposit is returned under the offer’s terms, usually within 48 hours, unless damage or a fine is documented. Guarantee cheques are not accepted.
9.Reviews
Only customers who completed a rental booked on ekrily can review the agency. Reviews must be honest and contain no insults, discrimination or personal data. We may remove a review that breaks these rules; the agency can reply publicly.
10.Liability
ekrily takes the necessary steps to keep the service running and offers accurate; agencies update their offers themselves. ekrily is not a party to the rental contract and is not liable for it, except for its own commitments: the booking service, refunds due and the ekrily guarantee.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights, in particular under Law No. 2000-83.
11.Personal data
Your data is processed under Organic Law No. 2004-63 of 27 July 2004 and our privacy policy, which describes the data concerned, who receives it and your rights.
12.Complaints and disputes
For any complaint, contact us on WhatsApp or at support@ekrily.tn with your reference. If you disagree with the agency, we review the case using the inspection report and the messages exchanged, and reply within 72 hours.
These terms are governed by Tunisian law. Failing an amicable solution, disputes go to the competent Tunisian courts.
13.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. A new version applies to bookings made after it is published; each booking remains governed by the version accepted when it was made.
